Following their Slam Dunk reunion with original frontman Mikey Chapman two years back, Mallory Knox have dropped their first new single since reforming, Afterglow. The track is the Cambridge four-piece’s first new output since 2019’s self-titled fourth record, released not long before the band initially called time on things, and it’s the first time Mikey’s been back behind the mic with them since 2017.

“Afterglow is the very first song Dave (Rawling, drums), James (Gillett, guitar) and I put together after we decided to start writing as a band again,” says Mikey. “The song captures the hope, excitement and anticipation we felt in those early moments of bringing the band back to life.

“Lyrically, I wanted to capture the mantra I’d been repeating to myself around that time: that there’s still life to be lived, as long as you’re willing to give it a go. Hopefully others can take their own bit of inspiration and hope from the song too.”

The band also have two sold out shows this week! Let us know if you got yer ticket:

21 The Lower Third, London

22 The Deaf Institute, Manchester
