Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators have announced their fifth studio album, Flying Blind.
The record will arrive worldwide on February 26, 2027 via Gibson Records, with the band also sharing its title track and accompanying official music video, filmed at The Viper Room in Los Angeles and directed by John Harvatine IV.
Recorded largely live with longtime producer Michael โElvisโ Baskette at Studio Barbarosa in Florida, the 12-track album features Slash on guitar and pedal steel, Myles Kennedy on vocals, Todd Kerns on bass, Brent Fitz on drums and Frank Sidoris on rhythm guitar. The bulk of the record was completed in around a week, with the band often recording two songs a day together in the same room.
โItโs a really fun, kind of spontaneous rock โnโ roll record,โ says Slash. โItโs very straightforward and down-to-earth and raw.โ
The title track itself came together spontaneously during pre-production, after Slash introduced a riff while the band were preparing to rehearse. The song quickly developed into a soaring, melodic rocker, with Slash later deciding it had the hook and melodic sensibilities needed to introduce the album.
For Kennedy, meanwhile, the songโs lyrics explore the shortcuts people sometimes take in their search for happiness and fulfilment.
โThe lyric is about how sometimes people try to take shortcuts and try to find the easy way to achieve happiness or enlightenment,โ he explains.
