There are plenty of things worth losing sleep over, but whether we’re the only lifeforms floating around in an incomprehensibly massive universe has got to be somewhere near the top of the list. Now, Blind Channel are taking that existential crisis straight to the moshpit.

The Finnish metallers have teamed up with Of Mice & Men vocalist and bassist Aaron Pauley for new single Into The Void, the final standalone track to be released ahead of their upcoming album Painstream.

Inspired by the Fermi Paradox and the mysterious Wow! signal, the track tackles one of humanity’s biggest unanswered questions: if life exists elsewhere in the universe, where the hell is everyone?

“Into The Void is our final standalone single from the upcoming Painstream album before the whole thing drops,” Blind Channel explain. “The song was inspired by the Fermi Paradox and the Wow! signal. If Earth really is the only place in the universe where life exists, we’re not exactly doing a great job of sustaining it.”

And while the subject matter might be suitably existential, the band promise the collaboration is considerably more chaotic once the guitars kick in.

“Aaron from Of Mice & Men jumped aboard for this one and made sure the moshpits will suck people in like black holes,” they add.

Pauley is equally enthusiastic about the team-up.

“I’m honored to feature on this track – it’s an absolute banger!” he says. “Had a lot of fun working on it & I’m excited for the world to hear it.”
