Just months after Love Is Not Enough, the band are already back with something rawer, more emotional and entirely its own beast

It’s no joke, Converge have revealed their second album of 2026.

Following February’s Love Is Not Enough, the band will release Hum Of Hurt on June 5 via Deathwish Inc. and Epitaph Records.

Frontman Jacob Bannon is quick to stress that this isn’t a continuation of the last record, though. While early ideas pointed towards a noise rock direction, the finished album evolved into something broader and more dynamic.

“To me, it leans more into being an emotional hardcore album,” he explains, contrasting it with the more metal-leaning feel of Love Is Not Enough. “In the end, we simply gave creative birth to another Converge record with its own unique identity and character.”

The announcement comes alongside the release of the title-track, which sees Bannon reflecting on decades spent immersed in music and art. He describes the lyrics as a moment of self-examination, recognising the need for change and admitting there’s still work to be done.
