With a guest spot from Robb Flynn, Black Veil Brides preview their upcoming album Vindicate with one of its heaviest cuts yet…

Black Veil Brides have dropped a ferocious new single, Revenger, featuring the unmistakable power of Machine Head.

The track is lifted from the band’s forthcoming album Vindicate, due May 8 via Spinefarm Records, and according to frontman Andy Biersack, it stands out as a personal highlight.

Diving into the track’s concept, Andy explains that Revenger explores the complicated idea of justice from a different perspective.

“I have always been interested in the sort of ethical dilemma that we have culturally of cheering for justice,” he says. “I thought it would be an interesting exercise to write lyrics from the perspective of someone who is trying to seek out the ultimate form of justice.”

Bringing that vision to life meant adding another voice, and for Andy, the choice was obvious.

“We brought in Robb Flynn of Machine Head. The reason he came to mind first was of course his voice, tonality and style. I thought it was perfect for this.”

Beyond the music, the collaboration also carries personal meaning. Andy points out that Robb Flynn was an early supporter of the band.

“In the early days when we were getting absolutely torn apart by every other metal band, Robb Flynn and Machine Head stood up for us and said positive things about us, and he’s maintained that for years. I think it’s one of my favourite songs on the record.”
