Enter Shikari have dropped a special new live session, Live From The Golden Age, featuring four tracks including the first live performance of their latest single, Higher Ground.

Directed by Tom Pullen, with audio recorded and mixed by George Perks, the session sees the band take a slightly different approach to the usual studio performance. You can watch it here.

Speaking about the video, frontman Rou Reynolds explained that the band wanted to do something a little different rather than simply setting up and playing in a studio.

“In typical Enter Shikari fashion, we didn’t want to just do a standard ‘live in the studio session’,” he said. “So we broke into an abandoned manor in the middle of nowhere, and painstakingly placed digital screens over the windows in an attempt to present the tracks in different environments despite the limits of the space.”

The release comes after the four-piece recently announced an indefinite hiatus, leaving questions hanging over what the future holds for the band. For now, however, fans have a new session to get stuck into, alongside their latest single, Higher Ground, which you can listen to here:

With the band preparing to step away indefinitely, these shows could be a particularly significant opportunity to catch Enter Shikari live. Remaining tickets are available here.
