After a few dates in Germany, Zeal and Ardor made their way over to the UK for a few stops on their tour. We were lucky enough to catch them at the Marble Factory in Bristol, a venue that has hosted countless incredible performances over the years. Sadly, the Marble Factory is set to close its doors in July, marking the end of an era for Bristolโ€™s live music scene. Before then, theyโ€™ll be welcoming acts like Eโ€™spirit Dair and Pup, making the most of their final months with some unforgettable shows.

Support came from Polish post-black metal band Dom Iล‚y. Within the first song, the crowd knew what they were in for. The band didnโ€™t hold back with their impressive vocals, and the drums really stood out in the mix. The drummer was on top form and remained a highlight throughout their set. Guttural vocals echoed through the warehouse, giving the room an eerie atmosphere.

Itโ€™s honestly impossible to think of a genre that suits Zeal and Ardor. You could argue that their music could fit into multiple genres, but whatever youโ€™d class them as, theyโ€™re truly breathtaking. The band pushes the boundaries of choir-like vocals with ease. With multiple vocalists, they create an extra level of musical immersion that is completely encapsulating.

Main vocalist Manuel was a true showman during the set. He took a moment to acknowledge the security guards, thanking them for their hard work, and he also expressed gratitude to the crowd on several occasions for attending the show. However, he didnโ€™t spend too much time talking between songs, instead focusing on fitting as many tracks as possible into their set.

The sound was mixed to perfection during both bandsโ€™ performances. Crushing guitar tones shattered through the venue, and the balance between clean and heavy vocals was truly impressive.

Ending the set with a drum and bass extravaganza was definitely a bit of a wild card, but it went down incredibly well, sparking multiple crowd surfers and a few mosh pits.

The band crammed an insane amount of songs into their set, and if you have the chance to see them during their tour, we canโ€™t recommend it enough. Youโ€™re in for an awesome show!
