Skunk Anansie Return withย The Painful Truth: A Bold, Provocative Comeback Album Set to Redefine Their Legacy
Wordsย byย Felix Bartlett | Feb 26, 2025
British rock legends Skunk Anansieย have announced their highly anticipated new studio album, The Painful Truth.
Their first record in nine years which follows 2016โs Anarchytecture is set to release on May 23 via FLG Records.
The latest offering promises to be a truly mesmerising, provocative, powerful and emotional album demonstrating a band at the absolute peak of their powers, yet with everything to prove with vocalist Skin sharing in a statement: โI donโt care that we were big in the โ90s. Creatively itโs irrelevant because in my rock bible the first commandment states, โIf thy rest on them laurels thy shall wither up and die artistically, musically, mentally. And then financially.โ
Unsure of what to do, and failing to write on zoom the band decided to head in with โfresh and forward-thinkingโ this time around with the crew teaming up with David Sitek of TV On The Radio on production duties, with Skin teasing that theyโve now ultimately made what โI genuinely think is our greatest record yetโ.
