a brief but jaw-breaking glimpse into the force that Vended are carving themselves out to be.

Vended, the US modern metal legends, found themselves at Sub 89 in Reading for the final night of their monstrous 33 EU tour supported by not just two but three killer bands in support: The Gloom In The Corner, Profiler and INDEVTH.

Vended is famously known for two of its members who are sons of Slipknot members: singer Griffin Taylor, son of Corey Taylor, and drummer Simon Crahan, son of Shawn โ€œClownโ€ Crahan. Despite their lineage, Vended has carved their own path, and have made a big impact in what has become an over-saturated industry. But more importantly, it has to be said these guys can play and they’re not here to mess about.

Starting off Vended certainly know how to make an entrance. As the lights dim to a pale blue the room erupts into cheer, the sound of Soft Cellโ€™s classic Tainted Love pounds through the venue, inspiring a mass singalong. A swelteringly hot, sticky and jam-packed Sub 89 then roars as we see the band skulk on stage as the track breaks and beings to crackle and we can hear Griffin scream onstage straight into their hottest track ‘Nihilism‘.

This was a brief but powerful jaw breaking glimpse into the kind of force Vended are on the way to becoming. Each note, movement, and word had a purpose, their raw anger and aggression was thrown into every beat as the walls pulsated (not often seen at a show on Sunday). Time will tell whether we will see Vended back on UK shores anytime soon, but with a support slot on the upcoming Slipknot 25th Anniversary tour alongside Knocked Loose and Orbit Culture It wonโ€™t be long before we see this band on larger stages, exploring complex production ideas, and establishing themselves as a unique entity at the forefront of the current Nu-Metal resurgence.
