The biggest skate punk show London will see all summer lands on Sunday. Here’s why you need to be there.

On Sunday 28 June, Crystal Palace Park turns into the loudest, sweatiest, most gloriously chaotic patch of south London, as The Offspring roll into the capital for a massive outdoor headline show. And they’re very much not coming alone.

This is a proper punk all-dayer, the kind of bill that doesn’t come around often. Dropkick Murphys bring decades of Celtic punk firepower and a live show built for a crowd this size. Pennywise are skate punk royalty, all velocity and circle pits. PUP are about the most thrillingly unhinged live band going right now, and Destroy Boys are one of the most exciting young acts tearing up the scene. Top to bottom, there’s no filler here. You could rock up at lunchtime and not waste a single minute.

And if that lot somehow isn’t enough to sell you, well, there’s the small matter of the headliners. The Offspring are still one of the most reliably ferocious live acts on the planet. Their 1994 breakthrough Smash is the biggest-selling independent rock album in history, and the catalogue does the rest. Self Esteem. Come Out And Play. Pretty Fly (For A White Guy). The Kids Aren’t Alright. You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid. Every one a guaranteed mass singalong, and there’s nothing quite like thousands of people roaring those choruses back in the open air with the sun going down over Crystal Palace.

If you’re only doing one punk show this summer, make it this one. Get down early, because the supports are far too good to sleep on, and come ready to lose your voice.
