If you are craving dramatic gothic vampire rock with a twist, The Howling are the band for you. Taking the scene by storm, the group made their introduction in September 2025 and already have two sold out headline shows and a 29 date tour supporting Creeper under their belt. Blessed by industry vampires Creeper is a credit to take seriously as The Howling get ready to release their debut EP “Salvo”.
The 5 track EP will take you on a journey where as frontman Mikey Lord has said “no two songs sound quite the same” and “it feels like there’s left turns”. The quartet have taken inspiration from across the alt music genres and you can hear how this has influenced the song writing with the theatrical vocals, electrifying guitar riffs and their ability to build drama through the music.
The EP kicks off with their lead single “Little Promises”, already a fan favourite from the get go. This track is the perfect introduction to the band’s gothic theatre and story telling. The energy switches into more punk/emo for the next song “Incantation” followed by another unexpected turn into mesmerising gospel melodies underpinning evocative lyrics in “Unholy”. I was instantly captivated by the vintage My Chemical Romance aura of “The Murder Capital” and if you are not already under The Howling’s spell by the first four tracks, the enthralling ballad “New Religion” rounds off the EP with haunting vocals and stunning instrumentals.
The Howling have created the perfect blend of emotion and drama with their gothic rock EP, it is sure to capture the attention of all spooky loving music fans.
