Itโ€™s been a long time coming, but Loathe are officially back. The Liverpool heavyweights have announced their long-awaited new album A Stranger To You, set to land on July 17 via SharpTone Records, and theyโ€™re ushering it in with the punishing new single Revenant.

Six years on from 2020โ€™s towering I Let It In And It Took Everything, the bandโ€™s next full-length is being billed as their most โ€œsonically adventurousโ€ work yet, which shouldnโ€™t come as a surprise if you caught 2025โ€™s Gifted Every Strength. That track now sits at number 13 on the upcoming recordโ€™s 14-song tracklist.

While the full tracklisting is still under wraps, we do know Revenant takes the eighth slot, and itโ€™s a vicious statement of intent. The track also features appearances from NOWHERE2RUNโ€™s Jami Morgan and Eric โ€˜Shadeโ€™ Balderose, adding even more bite to its already feral energy.

Reflecting on the lengthy gap between releases, bassist Feisal El-Khazragi previously explained that the delay came down to evolution, both personal and creative.

โ€œThe fact is that we were changing as people so much, and that was changing our tastes,โ€ he said. โ€œItโ€™s taken a while for the dust to settle within our tastes and to land on something that we felt comfortable with, that we can put out and present as a band.โ€

After years of buildup, it sounds like A Stranger To You isnโ€™t just a follow-up, itโ€™s a reinvention.
