Afterlife have kicked off a new era with the release of their latest single, ‘Bad Habits’, alongside news of their signing to Mascot Records.

Blending soaring melodies with crushing metalcore intensity, the track channels a distinctly Linkin Park-inspired edge while tackling deeply personal themes. According to vocalist Tyler Levenson, ‘Bad Habits’ explores the moment of recognising how destructive patterns can impact both yourself and those around you.

“It captures the struggle between denial and self-awareness, ultimately becoming a cry for help,” he explains. “As people, we all struggle with life and the unfortunate circumstances it brings. Sometimes the ways we cope… can become harmful, not only to ourselves but to those around us.”

Highlighting a key moment in the song, Tyler points to the second verse as especially raw: “‘Then I put a fake face on, ’cause I’m headed to a place that I gotta get away from…’ The song is a perfect description of how I was feeling on a day-to-day basis at various points in my life.”
