Static Dress have officially unveiled details of their long-awaited second album, injury episode.

Set for release on May 29 via Sumerian Records, the follow-up to 2022’s Rouge Carpet Disaster sees the band diving deeper into the dark, immersive world they’ve been building since day one. Known for blending music with striking visuals, graphic novels and even video game elements, Static Dress continue to push beyond the boundaries of what a modern alternative band can be.

This time around, injury episode explores the emotional fallout of the years since their debut, using their ongoing lore as a surreal lens to process themes of trauma, loss and the reality behind long-held dreams. Sonically, it marks a shift too, stripping things back in favour of something more immediate and unfiltered, with many parts captured in single takes to preserve that raw, in-the-room intensity.

Alongside the announcement, the band have dropped new single ‘Nostalgia Kills’, featuring Underoath. It’s a chaotic, no-holds-barred track that channels the spirit of classic mid-2000s post-hardcore, with both bands going head-to-head in a furious, emotionally charged exchange that doesn’t let up for a second.

Following earlier teaser ‘human props’, injury episode is shaping up to be Static Dress at their most ambitious and collaborative yet, with all four members, Olli Appleyard, Vin Weight, George Holding and Sam Ogden, leaving a clear imprint across the record.
