Oslo trio Hammok have returned with news of their signing to Sargent House, alongside details of their new album, When Does This Place Become Our Scene, due out on June 5, 2026.

Arriving with the announcement is lead single The Scene – a surging, melodic burst of hardcore energy that captures the bandโ€™s ever-expanding sound. Written while touring across Europe, the track reflects on the communities that have embraced them. โ€œEverything was sort of a natural response to how good the tour was going, and all the people we had met up to that point,โ€ explains vocalist/guitarist Tobias Osland. โ€œI wanted to capture and directly address the situation we were in – meeting people for the first time who give a shit about their community and the music around them.โ€

Driven by razored guitars, explosive drums and jagged-yet-catchy vocals, The Scene showcases Hammokโ€™s knack for blending abrasion with hooks. The accompanying video, directed by Christoffer Bya, mirrors that intensity with a fittingly high-impact visual.

On When Does This Place Become Our Scene, Hammok lean further into their idiosyncratic mix of pop-minded production, hardcore urgency and experimental textures – balancing tongue-in-cheek ferocity with moments that nod to emo and indie influences. โ€œA central idea was: What does it mean to be alone?โ€ Osland says of the recordโ€™s themes. โ€œIs it a strength? Do you feel a part of something? A community?โ€
