Stepping out of Kentish Town Station you can already feel the buzz of people ready to witness a trio of post-grunge greatness. As you step inside The Forum the energy remains. Older generations and a younger crowd of fans rub shoulders, embracing the resurgence of Superheaven these last few years following their hiatus back in 2016.

Starting proceedings we have Soul Blind, fresh off the back of the release of their latest album, Red Sky Mourning, in October and the announcement of a North American tour alongside Bristol’s own Split Chain. The Hudson Valley, New York band’s aggressive, alternative metal style (drawing from the likes of Deftones and Helmet) was incredibly well received by the crowd and proved that a headline tour this side of the pond should be imminent. Their set showcased the heavier direction they’ve taken since 2022’s Feel It All Around, with tracks like “Hide Your Evil” and “Dyno” hitting particularly hard.

As the sold-out crowd starts filling the venue, Balance and Composure hit the stage and build on the energy. Formed in 2007, this Pennsylvania band are no strangers to the scene and despite a hiatus between 2019 and 2023, they sound better than ever. Having just released With You in Spirit in October 2024 (their first album in eight years) the band’s comeback has been nothing short of triumphant. Their emotionally charged post-hardcore sound filled the room with a palpable intensity that had fans singing every word.

Superheaven hit the stage and as ‘Stare at the Void’ from their 2025 self-titled album drops, the crowd are instantly engaged. The pits are opening up and not one person is standing still. This is a testament to how much people have missed new material from these guysโ€”their first album in a full decade since 2015’s Ours Is Chrome. Last time Superheaven came to London was at Outbreak last summer. It was a packed out tent with people spilling out the sides and it’s clear to see why. As the set progresses they mix in classics like ‘Youngest Daughter’ (which went viral on TikTok and earned a gold certification) and ‘Leach’ with newer, equally received tracks. People are going crazy and the frenzy of phone flashlights prove that they are still as relevant as ever. The scene is thriving and Superheaven are at the forefront.
