Delilah Bonโ€™s recent “Princeless Princess” tour stop transcended the typical sold-out concert, emerging as a dynamic celebration of female empowerment. Held at the vibrant Manchester Academy 3, the event united protest anthems, fearless fashion, and infectious energy, transforming the venue into a hub for resistance and joy. Local band BEX kicked things off, igniting a rebellious spirit that resonated throughout the evening.

As the pounding growls of โ€œFilfyโ€ reverberated, BEX commanded the stage with electrifying presence, channeling punkโ€™s raw spirit with unyielding passion. She forged an instant rapport with the crowd through vivacious banter and magnetic engagement, amplifying the showโ€™s communal energy. Her set became a high-voltage celebration, spotlighting standout tracks like โ€œSilence,โ€ โ€œPolitix,โ€ and โ€œCrybaby.โ€ BEX seamlessly fuses youthful vigour with punkโ€™s storied legacy, turning personal stories into anthems of defiance and empowermentโ€”most notably with โ€œWeโ€™ll Never Be Like You.โ€ Her crowd-surfing antics during โ€œSPYD4 K1NGโ€ were not just playful but emblematic of the authentic bond she shares with fans. Driven by a revitalised punk ethos, BEX stands poised for a powerful and influential future in the genre she champions so fiercely.

From the very start of “Princeless Princess,” the atmosphere radiated excitement. Emerging from the vibrant feminist-punk scene, Delilah Bon is known for her genre-bending artistry and commitment to social justice issues. As a dynamic performer, she confidently commanded the stage while engaging with the audience. She effectively established the space as one dedicated to women, created by women, and focused on womenโ€™s liberation. The setlist was impressive, featuring powerful tracks like โ€œBrat,โ€ โ€œVillain,โ€ โ€œI Am The Best,โ€ and โ€œWitch.โ€ Bon brilliantly revealed her genre-defying style, blending elements of bubble-gum pop, trap, and metal, all while delivering bold and thought-provoking lyrics. While tackling vital social issues such as misogyny, online toxicity, abuse, and political hypocrisy, encouraging meaningful conversations among attendees, Bonโ€™s exceptional showmanship was a highlight of the evening. She connected personally with fans, energised the crowd through mosh pits, and infused humour into the performance. For instance, her introduction to the song โ€œChop Dicks,โ€ which included the playful remark, โ€œCan you just imagine?โ€ added a fun and cheeky element to the experience.

Significant moments unfolded during tracks like โ€œNot the Presidentโ€ and โ€œWar on Women,โ€ as they resonated with the nightโ€™s intersectional spirit and created an inclusive atmosphere for marginalised voices and those challenging the status quo. The energy reached its peak during the encore with โ€œI Wish A Bitch Wouldโ€ and โ€œMaverick,โ€ leaving the audience exhilarated and eager for more, especially during the spirited singalong of the empowering anthem โ€œDead Men Donโ€™t Rape.โ€ Although some listeners might initially find Bonโ€™s music abrasive, its originality and impact are truly noteworthy. Her fearless approach, relentless energy, and empowering messages transform her performances into significant acts of community, resistance, and celebration. Even when attendees witnessed BEX found themselves uplifted by Bonโ€™s revolutionary spirit. The sold-out show concluded on a high note with โ€œEvil, Hate-Filled Femaleโ€ and the powerful closer โ€œBush,โ€ reaffirming the importance of protest music as vital, urgent, and thrilling.

If youโ€™re looking for confidence, community, or a platform to express your frustrations, attending Delilah Bonโ€™s show is an experience that shouldnโ€™t be overlooked.
