LEAP is an ambitious band aspiring to perform on larger stages, in more prestigious venues, and to expand their audience base. Their dedication was clearly demonstrated during the UK segment of The Entropy Tour, which highlighted their increasing momentum. The Manchester Academy 3 venue, typically intimate, was filled with excitement as fans congregated to commemorate their debut album, Entropy. The band appeared polished, energetic, and fully in command of their sound, effortlessly integrating adept musicianship with authentic enthusiasm.
Throughout the evening, it appeared to be a pivotal moment in their journey, on the cusp of achievement. Each song was performed with earnestness, fostering an atmosphere that suggested forthcoming success. What distinguishes this London-based quartet from many emerging acts is their authenticity and stage chemistry. Charismatic frontman Jack Balfour Scott conducted himself with confidence, while Adam Mason’s guitar, Declan Brown’s bass, and Hector Cottam’s drums established a potent, dynamic foundation. Their interactions demonstrated genuine passion for their craft, which was eagerly shared by the audience. Their musical appeal was evident through authentic connection, raw emotion, and those transient, face-to-face interactions.
LEAP curated their setlist with notable versatility, transitioning seamlessly from vigorous anthems that engaged the audience to more contemplative compositions that provided emotional depth. The audience responded enthusiastically, engaging in mosh pits, sing-alongs, and creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a house party that left a profound impression.
As the evening concluded at the nearly fully booked Manchester Academy 3, the ambience was vibrant. LEAP concluded their performance with a sincere message to their audience – a message that resonated with both long-standing supporters and new listeners. Those who have followed LEAP from the outset already understand what distinguishes this band. Based on this performance and Manchester’s enthusiasm, it is evident that they will not remain underground for much longer. Their unwavering energy, strong rapport with fans, and debut album all indicate a band poised for larger venues and greater success.
