The recent resurgence of The Darkness can be attributed to their impressive television appearances, a successful podcast, and extensive touring, which peaked with a completely sold-out tour.
On a chilly evening in Wolverhampton, concertgoers strolled through the venue, where advanced video screens and towering lighting structures turned the stage into a stunning visual spectacle perfectly suited for a rock band of their stature.
The night kicked off with their latest hit, ‘Rock N Roll Party Cowboy’, as frontman Justin Hawkins energetically led the band and audience through a thrilling 90-minute set brimming with showmanship, humour, and classic rock anthems. Fan-favourite tracks like ‘Growing On Me, Get Your Hands Off My Woman’, and ‘Love Is Only A Feeling’ set the atmosphere ablaze, while newer, commercially appealing songs such as ‘Motor Dread and Walking Through Fire’ from their upcoming album, ‘Dreams On Toast’, fit seamlessly into the lineup.
At one point during ‘I Believe In A Thing Called Love’, the band encouraged fans to put away their phones and fully embrace the live experienceโa commendable sentiment in todayโs tech-obsessed concert scene.
