PRESIDENT are finally ready to unveil their long-awaited debut album. Titled Blood Of Your Empire, the record lands September 4 via Atlantic Records, with the anonymous collective marking the announcement by releasing a brand-new single, Doom Loop, ahead of their appearances at Slam Dunk this weekend.
Speaking about the track, the band explained: โThe song is really about the strange tragedy of time – how we spend our lives chasing it, wasting it, and fearing it – only to realise its value once a moment is gone. Itโs a reminder to be present while actually living life, instead of only appreciating it in hindsight.โ
The album itself was shaped by deeply personal themes. โBlood Of Your Empire was born out of my struggle with existential crisis and trying to understand belief, mortality, and humanityโs relationship with faith,โ PRESIDENT shared. โReligion has inspired incredible compassion, purpose, and beauty, but it has also caused unimaginable suffering and bloodshed throughout history.
โThis album exists in the space between those two realities. Writing it became a way to confront years of fear, confusion, and unanswered questions, and turn them into something Iโm truly proud of.โ
The album artwork features PRESIDENTโs emblem layered over Eugรจne Delacroixโs The Battle of Poitiers, the famous painting housed in the Louvre.
