This Sunday, April 27th, marked a milestone for the UKโ€™s alternative scene as Battle Jackets London hosted their inaugural Battle Jacket Competition at the legendary Underworld, in partnership with Nuclear Blast. The event transformed the iconic venue into a vibrant hub of DIY metal culture, drawing crowds of dedicated fans, crafters, and musicians for a full day of creativity, competition, and community.

From 12 PM, attendees immersed themselves in a pop up alternative market featuring unique stalls from some of the sceneโ€™s most talented makers, including @DeanoftheDeadOfficial@what_if_stories@battlejacketsewingclub, and many more. Dedicated sewing stations with provided kits allowed fans to customise their jackets on the spot, while a special patch stall helped metalheads perfect their battle-ready looks.

The highlight of the day was, of course, the Battle Jacket Competition, where participants showcased their meticulously crafted jackets for a chance to win incredible prizes. After finalists were announced at 5 PM, the tension built until 5:30 PM, when James was crowned the grand prize winner, earning free entry to The Underworld for a year, a Battle Jackets London patch bundle, and a Nuclear Blast merch pack.

As the winners celebrated in one of metals most iconic venues there was an undeniable feeling in the air of awe and wonder as the mass of people came through the iconic doors to celebrate the passion and craftsmanship that define metal subculture, proving that Battle Jackets London has carved out a much-needed space for fans to connect and create.

With such an epic debut, the future looks bright for Battle Jackets London. If you missed this one, keep an eye outโ€”more events are surely on the horizon.
