Death metal icons Cannibal Corpse made their welcome return to London last night (29th Sep) for their biggest shows in the UK to date with their mega month-long headlining tour!

Ahead of the tour Cannibal Corpse bassist Alex Webster shared “We‘ve played some festivals with Municipal Waste in the past but we‘ve never done a full tour with them, so we‘re really excited that it‘s finally happening. And of course, we‘ve done a lot of touring with our friends Immolation over the years; we‘re always ready to hit the road with them again- they‘re one of our favorite bands, both personally and musically”.

He continues – “It‘ll be an intense night of death and thrash metal, and Schizophrenia‘s blend of those genres should be a perfect way to kick things off. We can‘t wait for this one, see you this Fall!“

Rest assured, Webster was true to his word. London’s Roundhouse is arguably one of the most iconic venues in the city, and seeing the circular crowd descend into a circle pit felt as though this was exactly what the venue was built for! (Although I’m sure 19th-century engineer Robert Stephenson didn’t intend it for such chaos).

For a Sunday, the crowd certainly didn’t make it feel like it, with plenty of punters amassing, patched up with cuts, bruises, and grins full of drunken delight. These are the kind of moments Cannibal Corpse—and heavy metal—are known for and continue to deliver!

When a lineup of this epic proportion is announced, fans know they’ve been treated to something special. With a night of bands, each a pioneer of their respective genre, you’re presented with an evening to remember. Necks will be sore this Monday morning and heads too, but the memories from last night’s sensational set will linger as a celebration of all things heavy.
